Stuart was one of the founding members of Aid & Abet in early 2014. He helped create the vision that ‘once you leave prison you need never go back’, and went on to gain full-time employment with the organisation.

Stuart worked hard, conducting early agents visits, supporting people upon their release from prison and meeting with them in the community. He knew from experience what it was like to be trapped in the cycle of prison sentences and drug addiction. More importantly, Stuart knew the steps to take to completely turn his life around.

He was willing to pass this knowledge on to others, played a massive role in the lives of those recovering in the community and had a reputation for being friendly and approachable.

Stuart loved life, running and climbing, and was never more free than when he was at one with nature. He lived life to the full. Tragically, he died doing what he loved best; climbing in Glen Coe in August 2017 while also training for a marathon.

He was a loving partner to Julie-Ann Graham, doting dad to Kelly and Grandad to Riley. Julie-Ann asked that a JustGiving page be set up in memory of Stuart, and requested that all the money raised be given to Aid & Abet. The page rose a staggering £2,080 and was put towards the development of the Aid & Abet website.

We hope this page will help keep Stuart’s memory alive. May he stay ‘awesome’ forever in our hearts and minds, and in the spirit of the recovery community.
