Edinburgh Military Tattoo

About the Project

This project is run by the Violence Reduction Unit and they ask our mentors to be involved every year.  The project is for young people from adverse backgrounds to work at the famous Edinburgh Tattoo throughout the festival month of August.

The young people stay at the barracks for 4 weeks where our mentors are there to support and guide the men throughout the programme.

Our mentor George reflects on his experience of being part of this project:

‘Being part of the Tattoo program was an amazing experience because I had the pleasure of seeing all the boys involved go through the process of working together with the army and really feeling part of something. That process was amazing to watch. I personally built up a great relationship with all the lads involved and saw big changes in them all from start to finish.’
